Victor Wanyama To Manchester United?

According to the Sun, Manchester United are readying £10 million bid for Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama. Arsenal are interested in the player too.

Manchester United scouts watched him play in every single one of Celtic’s Champions League games this season and also some of his league matches too.

Wanyama is a versatile defensive midfielder who can also play at centre-back. With Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are nearing retirement, and Darren Fletcher’s long term injury following surgery for ulcerative colitis condition, United are desperate to add some steel and depth to their midfield.

But United will face stiff competition from Arsenal who are also closely monitoring the 6ft 2in Kenyan star. Arsenal believe Wanyama will be a perfect replacement for Alex Song who left for Barcelona last summer.

But Celtic manager Neil Lennon will be reluctant to sell Wanyama for any cheap price. Celtic just bought him for £900,000 in 2011.
