Valverde to make 2 changes – Predicted 4-4-2 Barcelona line-up to face Sevilla

Predicted Barcelona Line-up To Face Sevilla In La Liga

Barcelona will look to take a step closer to the La Liga title when they take on Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday night.

The Catalans sit on top of the table with 75 points from 29 games, with an 11-point advantage over second-placed Atletico Madrid. A win over Vincenzo Montella’s side this weekend could possibly see them widen the gap at the top to 14 points, given that the Rojiblancos are scheduled to play a day later.

Probable Barcelona XI

Manager: Ernesto Valverde

Formation: 4-4-2

Jasper Cillesen (GK)

The Netherlands international has been extensively used in the cup competitions this season. But an injury to Ter Stegen means he could get an opportunity in this league game.

Sergi Roberto (RB)

The academy graduate has made the right-back spot his own ahead of summer signing Nelson Semedo. His forward forays down the right flank will be key.

Gerard Pique (CB)

The defender has emerged as a leader on the field for the Blaugrana this term. His experience and know-how are pivotal for the team.

Samuel Umtiti

Samuel Umtiti (CB)

The France international is enjoying a fine campaign with the Catalans and has established himself as one of the best in Europe.

Jordi Alba (LB)

After a below par campaign last time out, Spanish left-back Jordi Alba has been brilliant this season. His attacking intent and influence from the left-hand side have been crucial in Barcelona’s strong season so far.

Ousmane Dembele (RW)

The France international has shown glimpses of his immense potential in his first season at the Camp Nou. Will be hoping to finish the season strongly.

Paulinho (CM)

Contrary to initial expectations, former Tottenham Hotspur man Paulinho has been a revelation since his summer move from China. Should start this game.

Ivan Rakitic (CM)

The Croatian international led his team to a victory over Mexico during the international break and will be keen on performing well for his club as well.

Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta

Andres Iniesta (LW)

The Spanish pass maestro might be in the twilight of his career but he still remains an important cog in the wheel for Barcelona.

Luis Suarez (ST)

With 21 goals and 6 assists from 25 La Liga outings, Luis Suarez will be a major threat to the Sevilla defence when the two sides meet.

Lionel Messi (ST)

There were concerns over his fitness following his absence for Argentina during the international break. However, having trained with the squad on Thursday, the little magician will look to boost his tally of 35 goals and 16 assists for the season, when Barcelona take on Sevilla.
