According to Valencia-based radio station Cadena Ser, Valencia are preparing a shocking bid for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
Valencia believe Giroud will be a perfect replacement for Roberto Soldado who is on verge of signing for Arsenal’s rival club Tottenham. They are also impressed with Giroud who showed some impressive pre-season form as he scored 6 goals in four friendly games. Last season, he bagged 17 goals and 10 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions, which is not bad for a guy in his first premier league season.
But if Arsenal buy Suarez from Liverpool, then Giroud will be forced to play a second fiddle role to the Uruguayan striker. Valencia look to capitalize on this situation as they can offer regular game time for the French target man which may not be possible at Emirates if Suarez arrives.
Wenger who is a great fan of Giroud will most probably reject any bid as he would not like to weaken the squad by selling star players again.
Valencia are also linked with Real Zaragoza’s Helder Postiga and Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez. These two are more realistic targets for the Spanish side than Giroud.
