Celtic cruised past nine-man Aberdeen 3-0 at Hampden Park to reach the Scottish Cup final and keep the treble hopes alive. James Forrest, Odsonne Edouard and Tom Rogic were the scorers for the Hoops, who were comfortable winners in the end.
Aberdeen had Dominic Ball receiving a second yellow card in the 37th-minute when he made a bad aerial challenge on Ryan Christie. Lewis Ferguson was sent off in the 67th-minute for a lunging tackle on Rogic.
On the other hand, Forrest put Celtic ahead in the stoppage time of first half. Callum McGregor made that set-up but the strike from the goalscorer from outside the box was excellent.
15 minutes into the second half, Jonny Hayes won a foul in the opposition box. Edouard stepped up to take the spot-kick and placed it perfectly to the bottom left corner to double the lead for Neil Lennon’s men.
Eight minutes later, Mikael Lustig found Rogic in the box following a set-piece situation. The former then put his foot through to make the scoreline more comfortable.
All in all, a dominating performance from the Hoops who will meet Hearts in the final on the 25th of May.
