Championship opinion – Two Ideal Destinations for Allan Nyom
According to a report in Express & Star, West Brom full-back Allan Nyom is expected to be sold on a permanent basis during this transfer window.
This is chiefly because he has only one year left in his contract and an extension doesn’t seem like an option. The 31-year-old played for La Liga club Leganes on loan from the Baggies last season and did well there.
Nyom, who arrived at the Hawthorns back in the summer of 2016 for a fee around £3m from Watford (h/t Express & Star), was one of the key players for the club in his first couple of seasons.
However, things changed last summer and he was sent on loan to Spain. Now, it looks highly likely that he will be pushed out of the door permanently this time.
Here are the two Championship clubs who should take note and make a move for him:
Derby County
Even though Jayden Bogle had a great season, Derby County could do with more options at right-back, especially knowing that Andre Wisdom has struggled whenever he got the opportunity.
So, the Rams should look to sign Allan Nyom if and when he is put on sale by West Brom this summer. The 31-year-old is a dynamic fullback, who can play on either side and is a very competent asset on both sides of the field.
All in all, the former Watford man could really spur Derby on in their another potential quest for promotion next season.

Leeds United
With the intensity with which Leeds United play their football under Marcelo Bielsa, it was understandable when they struggled for right-back options when Luke Ayling was injured and out of form.
Bielsa’s style of football does require dynamic full-backs on both sides, who can make positive runs forward and also recover them in due course of time.
For that reason, it won’t be a bad idea for the Whites to look to sign Nyom, if and when the opportunity presents itself this summer.
