Two Aberdeen fans charged over racist chants against Rangers

Rangers news: Two Aberdeen fans found shouting racist chants in the clash against Rangers

According to the Scottish Sun, two fans of Aberdeen have been laid charges for alleged racist chants in last week’s game with Rangers.

Rangers travelled to the Pittodrie Stadium last Thursday to face Aberdeen in which the former  ended as the winners.

The game was indeed a boisterous affair as two of the home fans seem to have gone a little over the top with their remarks on the away side.

In the wake of the incident, Police initiated an investigation with some of the fans present in the stadium.

Sergeant Ross Geddes, of the Divisional Alcohol Violence Reduction Unit (DAVRU), said (h/t Scottish Sun):

“I would like to thank those who brought their concerns to our attention and to those who assisted with our investigation.”

He further added that any kind of misconduct wouldn’t be welcomed in any situations and there would be definite consequences for such acts.

Goals aplenty for the Gers

The game also saw Alfredo Morelos (Rangers) and Mckenna (Aberdeen) getting sent off, and there were goals all around with the Gers running out 4-2 winners.

Morelos scored a brace before being sent off, and the other scorers for the away side were James Tavernier and Jermain Defoe.
