Arsenal have officially announced that Nicklas Bendtner along with 10 other players have been released by the club whose contract end on June 30th. The list also features this year’s January signing Kim Kallstrom, who scored one of the goals during the FA Cup semi-finals penalty shootout against Wigan Athletic.
Academy players Chuks Aneke, Daniel Boateng, Zach Fagan and Leander Siemann are also in the line to depart having reached the end of their current agreements.
Arsenal fans took to social networking sites to react on the news that Bendtner is finally leaving the club. The Danish striker, who has created a “cult hero/troll king” name for himself for his off-field comments and antics is duly sent-off by the Arsenal fans.
#Bendtner has left #Arsenal, I bet #Madrid and #Barca are drafting up MASSIVE contract offers as we speak, right Niklas? #BendtnerMemories

#Bendtner, 26 yo, should be reaching the pinnacle of his career right now. Instead he's on the scrap heap. Such a shame and waste of talent.
