Arsene Wenger, the longest serving Premier League manager has extended his contract with Arsenal today signing a three year extension which will keep him at the club until May 2017.
It has been confirmed by Arsenal’s official website, which has quoted Wenger as saying:
“I want to stay and to continue to develop the team and the club. We are entering a very exciting period. We have a strong squad, financial stability and huge support around the world. We are all determined to bring more success to this club.”
“The club has always shown faith in me and I’m very grateful for that. We have gone through fantastic periods and also periods where we have had to stick together. Every time when that togetherness was tested I got the right response. I think I have shown some loyalty as well towards this club and hopefully we can make some more history. I am sure we can.”
A season which started with an agonizing defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, rose to the levels of the invincibles season as they managed to stay at the top of the league for 128 consecutive days before Manchester City and Liverpool forced their way back. A season which saw Wenger’s 1000th game in charge of the Gunners and the one which ended Arsenal’s long wait to win a silverware. If Wenger manages to stay at the Emirates until 2017, it will take him past the 20 year mark at the club.
Under the guidance of Arsene Wenger, Arsenal have managed to win three league titles, five FA Cups and four Community Shields since 1996.

#WengerSigns suggests either a) an AMAZING sequel to an average film or b) some strange protest with big pictures of his face
