Twitter Explodes As Coutinho’s Injury Shadows Liverpool Win

Share

Liverpool battled long and hard to breach a Sunderland defense that was stubborn and strong but managed to get three points at Anfield with Divock Origi and James Milner scoring in a 2-0 victory.

In the 34th minute of the game, Philippe Coutinho was forced off on a stretcher to much of the Merseysiders’ horror and despair as the Anfield faithful were left fretting over a potentially serious injury. Divock Origi was his replacement and the striker made his substitution count.

A dominant performance by Jurgen Klopp’s Reds was clear for everyone to see and the only thing that was missing from their game was a goal which finally arrived in the 75th minute when Belgian forward Divock Origi curled the ball past Jordan Pickford in the Sunderland goal.

Sadio Mane was tripped in the box when N’dong clipped the Senegalese international and James Milner stepped up and sent  Pickford the wrong way to ensure the Anfield outfit claimed the victory.
