Tweets: Former Manchester United Star In Defence Of Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil

The £42.5m star Mesut Ozil, has been on the receiving end of some severe criticism from the British media and some Arsenal fans. Has the German International justified his hefty price tag? Has he been a wrong buy? Is it too fast to conclude? Well, everyone has got their answers and the media has just made use of the situation to the maximum.

Ozil, who limped off at half time during the Bayern Munich clash was subbed off and it has now been confirmed that the midfielder will be sidelined for as long as six weeks. It is said that Ozil suffered the injury just after 10 minutes into the game and after assessing him, the Arsenal medical staff today have confirmed that he caused more damage to his hamstring in the process.

Leaving aside his performance against Bayern, Ozil was already receiving some sticks lately and was even booed by German National fans during their friendly against Chile last week.

Yesterday, Former Manchester United star and Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville defended the playmaker and has put the blame on Arsene Wenger for Ozil’s poor showing. Neville pointed out that Ozil needed a winter break and quoted that Ronaldo used to get one under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Neville took to Twitter to shares his view on Wenger’s decision to keep playing Ozil throughout a difficult Christmas spell.

Here are some of his Tweets:
