According to the latest reports Arsenal are getting ready to join the race to sign Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala. These reports claims that Wenger is in secret talks with the Mangala’s agent.
In December, Mangala hinted at a premier league move. He said,
“You can have the best agent in the world, but if you are not outstanding on the pitch you will never join any great club,”
“The Premier League? That is no secret, to me it is the most beautiful league in the world.”
“Whatever the opponent, you know it will be a fight. The game is intense, it is fast, and everyone is giving his very best.”
Mangala who was heavily linked with Manchester City in the last window has a £40m release clause which is definitely too high for a defender. But if Arsenal manage to negotiate a deal for a lower price than his clause, then this move may happen next Summer.
