Transfer Rumours Circle Around, But Why Arsenal Cannot Lose This Superstar For Whatever Price Offered?

Every year there is this rumour of one top Arsenal star leaving the club and starting afresh, we have seen the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy are just a few players who have left the club for more silverware.

One player who is in line with a move away from the Emirates is Mesut Ozil with a shocking bid coming in from Barcelona, well those are rumours of course and with Barcelona dominating world football, why wouldn’t he move to the Catalan side?

Ozil though is a star at Arsenal and moving to another side would mean having to re-establish himself. We provide five reasons why Ozil should remain at Arsenal for the foreseeable future.

A star in the making

The 27-year-old is enjoying his best season in years with his performance for Arsenal. His first season might not have been great but he is certainly the go-to-guy for the Gunners this season and well he seems to be getting better as the season goes on.

Ozil is finding his feet at Arsenal after his move from Real Madrid and well when you have something good going on, why should you move away at all? He is enjoying his football in the team and moving away would just disrupt all the good he has achieved so far.

Playing second fiddle in Barcelona

Moving to Barcelona seems to be the route at the moment but where would he fit in? The Catalan side are incredible at the moment and Ozil should be careful of what other Arsenal stars have had to deal with since moving to Spain.

Thomas Vermaelen, Alex Hleb and Alex Song, all ended up playing second fiddle in the side and Ozil could face a similar situation with the side already having the likes of Sergio Busquets, Andreas Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic, stay in London and make merry Ozil, Barca does not have a lot to offer in terms of playing time.

Where else can he go?

If it isn’t Barcelona, Ozil does not have many places to go to. Apart from the Catalan side, he cannot move back to Real Madrid or even go back to Germany unless he is willing to play for Bayern Munich but moving back to Germany seems a remote possibility.

PSG could be the other option and they will have a bit of money to spend since Zlatan would be moving away and that would free up a lot of wages but would Ozil be willing to move to an inferior league for medals and trophies? Not that we believe so.

Arsenal are almost the finished article

We have been saying this for years but every year they do seem to be getting close to the finished article and after the singing of Petr Cech, they do seem closer than ever before to actually winning the league title.

In actuality, they should have run away with the title this season but being Arsenal they somehow managed to mess it up. Hopefully this will teach Arsenal and they could come back stronger next year to win the title with Ozil playing a huge role in their title charge.

Importance to this side

Had this been after his first season at the Gunners, you would not have raised questions if he was to move away from Arsenal to Barcelona or even PSG. Ozil had a horrible first season, especially the second half of the year and well a fresh start could have been the answer for the German international.

But he is extremely important to his Arsenal side currently and moving away would just send the wrong signal to the team and also about Ozil. The German is a star in the making and his ability makes him one of Arsenal’s best, which could mean that he stays here for years to come.
