Celtic FC News: Swedish club Malmo are plotting a move for Celtic defender Mikael Lustig, according to The Sun.
The Swede’s contract expires next month and will be available as a free-agent.
The 32-year-old has played a significant role for the Celts this season despite injury struggles. He has racked up an eight-goal tally to his name across all competitions.
Now, the Swedish outfit has offered a lucrative deal to the full-back which will make him one of the top earners in the country.
Lustig has made 220 appearances since moving to Celtic Park in 2011.
And the former Rosenberg man has also been a staple for the Swedish national team as he earned 75 caps till now.
How Lustig’s departure will affect the Hoops?
Lustig remains the only solid right-back option for the Hoops as of now.
Toljan was a bought on a season-long loan from Borussia Dortmund but didn’t prove to be a smart addition.
And Neil Lennon looks to have not planned for contingencies other than the veteran Swedish defender.
The former Hibernian manager is having a great run on his Celtic Park return, as he successfully led his side to lift the Scottish Premiership title.
