Rangers News: Rangers are reportedly plotting a summer move for Osijek striker Mirko Maric, claims The Daily Record UK.
The Croat has been scouted by the Ibrox side for a while now and he is valued around £3million. (h/t The Daily Record UK)
Maric, 23, progressed through the youth ranks of Siroki Brijeg, a club based in Bosnia.
He later made it to the first-team and scored 15 goals in three seasons.
The striker later had spells at Dinamo Zagreb, Lokomotiva, Videoton before joining Osijek.
Maric has been outstanding this season for the Eastern Croatian club, scoring 16 goals across all competitions.
He also scored in the Europa League qualifying phase against the Light Blues.
Maric was instrumental in helping his side reach the 3rd position in 1.HNL.
Having played for Bosnia and Herzegovina previously, Maric received his maiden cap for Croatia in 2017.
Steven Gerrard’s reliable striker options are Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe.
The Colombian striker often gets uspended, owing to his antics on the field. Meanwhile, Defoe is bound to his parent club Bournemouth and is also in the twilight of his career.
Having said that, Maric will be a feasible option for Gerrard to strengthen his attack for the upcoming seasons.
Gers left-back Borna Barisic is well acquitted with Maric during their time at Osijek. Citing this reason, the Gers can persuade the 23-year-old to join hands with his compatriot in Glasgow.
The Light Blues have picked up the momentum with three straight wins after going through a slight dip in form last month.
