Rangers News: Rangers have reportedly turned their attention towards the Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn, according to The Sun.
The Welsh teenager was targeted by Steven Gerrard but he eventually opted to move for Sheffield United on a loan deal.
The 19-year-old is an academy product of the Anfield club.
He broke into the first-team in 2016, making his debut against Sunderland.
After being given limited playing time, Ben Woodward joined the Blades on a season-long loan deal last year.
Upon returning to Anfield, he was pushed to the Reds’ reserves team, where he is making a great impact right now.
He has 2 goals and 3 assists to his name in a total of 5 games so far.
Woodburn is also a regular for the Welsh national team since 2017. In fact, he holds the record for scoring on his debut at the age of 17.
The Welsh prospect is also on the radar of English clubs, namely Hull City and West Brom.
The Baggies, as of now, look one of the favourites to play in England’s top flight next season. And it could help them lure Woodburn from the Reds.
The Reds teenager is a versatile forward, who can play as an attacking midfielder and a winger.
Meanwhile, Ryan Kent, another Reds-bound loanee is set to make his return to the Premier League next season.
Gerrad is said to be keen on keeping the 22-year-old in Glasgow for one more year, as he has impressed him a lot in this campaign.
Nonetheless, Woodburn looks an optimistic option to fill the void of Kent and can help Gerrard strengthen his side for next season.
