Transfer News: Rangers keeping tabs on Polish striker Adam Buksa

Rangers News: Rangers have reportedly targeted the Polish striker Adam Buksa, claims Football Insider.

The report also states that the Light Blues have been scouting the 22-year-old for a while now and the scouts were present in Poland on Sunday.

Player stats

Buksa has been excellent for his side Pogon Szczecin bagging nine goals and three assists this season in 18 appearances.

He has earned ten caps for his nation’s U-19 side and scored five goals.

The polish prospect scored a wonderful brace against Wisla Plock last month.

Furthermore, he received his international call–up to the main team last year but didn’t get the playing time.

He has a contract with the club until 2021. Buksa is naturally left-footed and often deployed as a centre-forward.

How he could fit in Gerrard’s playing 11?

Rangers have a dominant striker up in front in Alfredo Morelos. The Colombian striker’s sensational run of form has made him a go-to guy for Gerrard.

On-loan striker Jermain Defoe, aged 36, remains the only back up for the Colombian and Buksa can step in to fill the void of the former England international.

Moreover, the Polish prospect has a tendency to play on the wings which could give him another position if Steven Gerrard tweaks the traditional formation.

Steven Gerrard

The Light Blues suffered a heavy defeat in the Old Firm derby on Sunday as their winless run continues since last month.

The former Liverpool star’s first season at the Ibrox looks likely to end up as a trophyless one.
