Leeds United News: Leeds United are reportedly interested in Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen claims Football Insider. (h/t The Daily Star UK)

Stefan Johansen

The Norwegian who is currently on loan at West Brom will become a free agent as his contract is due to expire at the end of this season.

Player Stats

The 28-year-old progressed through the youth ranks of his country club Bodo Glimt.

He rose to prominence during his time at Celtic where he went on to make more than 100 appearances.

Despite playing a pivotal role in promotion push for Fulham last season, Johansen has been limited to just six appearances for the Baggies this season.

He has earned 46 international caps so far and was appointed the captain in 2017.

Why Leeds should pursue?

Johansen could provide cover for Klich and Kalvin Phillips in the Whites’ squad and his experience would be vital for Marcelo Bielsa.

Possibilities

Having already fallen out of favour with the Baggies and his parent club, the 28-year-old would try to take heed of the clubs approaching him.

Moreover, the Lily Whites are currently 15th in the Premier League table and are heading downwards to a possible relegation.

Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds are third in the Championship table just a place short of achieving an automatic promotion.

With only a few games left to be played, Bielsa’s men would go all out to secure the Premier League promotion in almost a decade.

They will be facing Millwall this Saturday at Elland Road and a win would help them go above Sheffield United.
