Transfer News: Leeds United plot a move for Sam Gallagher

Leeds United News: Leeds United are plotting a move for Southampton striker Sam Gallagher.

The 23-year-old was rather used as a fringe player this season and the Saints are having no problems in him leaving the club.

An academy graduate of the Saints, Gallagher broke into the main team in 2013 and thrived to get enough starts.

Though he had decent loan spells with Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City, The English U-20 international found himself as a bench warmer since his return.

Gallagher had barely featured under Ralph Hasenhuttl this season with just four appearances across all competitions.

Why should Leeds move for Gallaher?

The Whites concluded a disappointing campaign, failing to land promotion despite labelled as the favourites at a certain stage of the Championship.

However, Marcelo Bielsa is still optimistic about the forthcoming season as he is sorting out the reinforcements.

And the Elland Road’s attacking prowess in the final third of the Championship turned out to be the major reason for the downfall.

Kemar Roofe was instrumental for the Whites’ success before hindered by a long injury layoff. Patrick Bamford was impressive yet he failed to show up in the big games and completely let down the Argentine manager at times.

Leeds and Bielsa should get the best out of the youngster and should go all out and sign him, and to get an idea of who has the best chance of signing him, you can check the betting sites and their latest odds.

Bielsa wants to add more balance to his side’s attack in the upcoming season and Gallagher looks an excellent option.

Furthermore, his versatility to play at the wings, which he developed during the loan spell with Birmingham would be an added advantage.
