Leeds United News: Leeds United are set to rival a swarm of English clubs for the signing of Tom Bayliss, reports Sunday People.

The report adds that the Coventry City midfielder has a contract till 2022 and is also on the radar of Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Brighton

Player Stats

The 22-year-old has been a regular for the Sky Blues this season, notching up a six-goal tally in more than 30 matches

The English prospect played a huge role in Mark Robinson’s side achieving promotion to the League 1 last season.

A youth product of the Sky Blues, Bayliss soon promoted to the first-team in 2017. He has earned two caps for England’s U-19 side.

Why Leeds Should go for Bayliss?

Leeds have suffered a late dip in form, which has cost them automatic promotion.

Kalvin Phillips, the renowned midfielder of Leeds, has been linked with English club Southampton about a potential summer move. (h/t Daily Echo UK)

Keeping that in mind, Alfredo Morelos should look for a player who carries the same traits as Phillips.

Bayliss fits the bill given his versatility in the midfield.

Difficulties

The Magpies and the Elland Road club are said to be leading the race for the signature of Bayliss.

In fact, Rafa Benitez’s side has the edge given that they compete in the Premier League.

Meanwhile,  LUFC is set to feature in the Championship playoffs this month, which will decide whether or not they are going to end up in England’s top-flight next season.
