Leeds United News:  Leeds United are closing in on Motherwell midfielder Stuart McKinstry for a reported value of £400,000 claims Football Insider.

Earlier in February, the Whites fought off Premier League side Southampton to agree on a pre-deal with the Scottish club.  (h/t The Sun)

Who is Mckinstry?

Aged just 16, the Scottish prospect has earned a handful number of caps for his nation’s U-17 side. In fact, he scored a goal against Hungary.

Mckinstry has been a regular for the Scottish club’s youth side since 2012 and is yet to make an appearance in the first-team.

He is normally deployed as a midfielder in either flank.

How will he fit in Marcelo Bielsa’s side?

The Whites‘ objective will be to include the midfielder who turns 17 this September in the reserves squad.

However, the club and the Argentinian manager have a reputation for nurturing and promoting young talents.

Mckinstry could easily enter the fold with the Whites, who are in a pole position to play in the Premier League next season.

Their victory against Millwall last week has put them back in second in the Championship table, trailing Norwich city by five points.
