Transfer News: Crystal Palace rivalling Southampton for Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield

Rangers News: Crystal Palace have reportedly joined the race with fellow English club Southampton to get the signature of Rangers midfielder
Scott Arfield, claims The Sun.

The Canadian international has still a year left with his contract and is valued at £3million. (h/t The Sun)

Arfield is having an amazing season at Ibrox.

The 30-year-old’s impact at the Gers has been significant this season,  bagging 11 goals and 7 assists across all competitions.

He also scored a memorable hat-trick against Motherwell post the Old Firm derby defeat.

Arfield has his roots in the Premier League with the clubs Huddersfield and Burnley, and for the latter, he played around 200 games.

A youth product of Scottish club Falkirk, Arfield has represented both Scotland and Canada at international levels.

How Arfield’s move could affect the Gers?

Arfield has been in great form since the turn of the last month and also made the Gers feel less affected by the absence of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

And with the signings of Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones, Steven Gerrard wouldn’t suffer much from the departure of the Canadian international.

The Light Blues are currently inclined to end the season on a high note after winning three straight matches.

Their recent win against Aberdeen was meant to be a reply for the Scottish Cup quarter-final defeat.
