Transfer News: Aston Villa plotting a move for Chelsea teenager Martell Taylor -Crossdale

Aston Villa News: Aston Villa are plotting a move for Chelsea youngster Martell Taylor-Crossdale, reports Football Insider.

The 19-year-old striker’s contract is due to expire later this season.

Player Stats

Martell is a regular for the Blues’ U-23 this season.

A youth product of the Stamford Bridge side, the English striker claimed the Golden Boot for scoring 18 goals in the U-18 Premier League.

In 2017, he signed his first professional contract after turning 17.

And, he was part of the England U-18 side which won the Toulon Tournament.

Interest from other clubs

The teenager is said to be on the radar of English clubs; namely Southampton,  Fulham and Bristol City.

Why should Villa make a move for the youngster?

Dean Smith is set to face his biggest dilemma, with regards to Tammy Abraham, whose loan-spell will end after this season.

Abraham’s record-breaking 25 goal-haul is the highest by any Villa player in a single season for over a decade.

The Blues-bound Striker has been instrumental in the Lions’ recent success.

Kodjia remains a back-up but his recurrent injury problems have been a concern for Smith.

The Lions should go all out for the English prospect Martell, who may be capable of inheriting Abraham’s throne.

Villa ensuring a place in England’s top flight next season could help them in landing the youngster at Villa Park.
