Tottenham vs. Manchester United (Combined XI): No Place For Smalling

Tottenham and Manchester United face off against each other with different goals set out till the end of the season. While Spurs are looking to chase down Leicester, Manchester United are looking to sneak into the top four of the Premier League and ensure Champions League football next season.

Both teams have had some star players this season and with a brilliant tie at the Lane, we provide a combined XI of the best players from both sides.

David de Gea

This was a tough choice to make, Hugo Lloris has been exceptional this year but David de Gea has singled handedly kept United in many games and is the reason why the club are even close to the top four spots.

Kyle Walker

No doubt which right-back is better this season, Kyle Walker has been sensational for Tottenham and no one from Manchester United can even think of replacing the English defender.

Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian might be missing his partner in defence but Alderweireld has stepped his game up this season and makes it into this combined XI.

Daley Blind

We might have chosen Chris Smalling but in the last few games, it has been Blind who has been in form and easily makes it into this team.

Danny Rose

Manchester United might be missing Luke Shaw this season but Danny Rose has shown that England do not have any worries for the Euros as the youngster is the left back of choice for this combined XI.

Mousa Dembele

Another Belgian in the team, Mousa Dembele has turned things around in his Tottenham career and has been one of the best midfielder’s in the Premier League.

Eric Dier

Someone who can tackle well and can even play that important pass forward, this season has been a revelation for the former centre-back and he just about sneaks into this XI ahead of Morgan Schneiderlin.

Christian Eriksen

This team needs some energy and creativity and we start with the Danish attacker who has been a spark for Tottenham though he hasn’t been the player who has shone brightest for them.

Juan Mata

The Spanish star is another player who has not had the best season so far this year has still been better than most attackers from the two teams and gets into this XI.

Dele Alli

One of the brightest prospects in world football at the moment, Dele Alli can pass, shoot and score. His link up play with Kane has been brilliant this season and well if he didn’t make it into this team, who would?

Harry Kane

The top goal scorer in the Premier League, Harry Kane has done exceptionally well this season and even with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial for competition, Kane easily blows them out of the water.
