[Image] Predicted 3-4-3 Tottenham XI to face Huddersfield – can Spurs build on the midweek win in the UCL?

Tottenham vs Huddersfield Town predictions: Tottenham line-up

This is probably the only game where Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will get a chance to rest his squad. The mid-week tie against Manchester City was an absolutely intense clash and it surprisingly ended up in favour of Tottenham.

They somehow managed to out-think Pep Guardiola but it isn’t over yet. The North London side will face the Cityzens twice within their next three games, with two back-to-back clashes. It’s a streak that could effectively hurt or help both sides, and one that might just decide the title race.

However, as mentioned above, this game is the only chance that Spurs have to rest key stars. Facing an already relegated Huddersfield Town might be tricky as the Terriers might be looking to end their time in the top-tier on a high.

Tottenham are in a rather precarious position and will need to keep an eye out for complacency going forward. Their top four hopes will rest on that, which means that every game going forward has to be in their favour.

Team News

Harry Kane hobbled off coming off badly in a 50/50 challenge against Fabian Delph and could be out for the season (Guardian). Dele Alli walked off with a broken hand and may not be fit enough (Daily Mail).

Barring that, Mauricio Pochettino still has Eric Dier, Eric Lamela and Serge Aurier out with long-term injuries.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

He made up for his recent dip in form by saving Sergio Aguero’s penalty when Manchester City were in full force. The club will be hoping that Lloris continues this run of form into the next few fixtures.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The young Colombian centre-back was rested for the Manchester City clash, with Pochettino looking elsewhere and could make his return.

Jan Vertoghen (CB)

A leader at the back, the 31-year-old has done relatively well since his return from injury and should lead the line.

Juan Foyth (CB)

With the second leg against Manchester City next week, this could see the young Argentine centre-back get a chance to impress.

Kyle Walker-Peters (RWB)

Another youngster, the 21-year-old has done relatively well when called upon and with Serge Aurier injured, he should find a place in the starting eleven.

Moussa Sissoko (CM)

His improvement over the last few months has been visible and despite playing in midweek, he should start.

Victor Wanyama (CM)

Very impressive after coming off the bench, this could be the former Southampton man’s chance to prove himself.

Ben Davies (LWB)

Another player who was rested for the mid-week clash, Rose should make way for Davies, with the Manchester City game coming down the line.

Christian Eriksen (RAM)

Easily Tottenham’s best player when in form, the Danish midfielder should start with injury issues all over the board.

Heung-Min Son (LAM)

He started and scored the first Champions League goal at the new stadium but with injuries elsehwere, the South Korean should also start.

Lucas Moura (CF)

Made an impact off the bench and the Brazilian has to step up in the absence of Harry Kane. However, he’s already shown that he can do it, with impressive performances earlier in the season.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
