Tottenham Transfers – Forget Soldado, Have A Look At These Three Strikers

After missing out Christian Benteke, Tottenham Hotspurs need to jot down the available alternatives. Being not so financially potent as some of their London counterparts, Spurs should think about some potential players who have yet not grabbed the eyes of the biggies. While all the attention are on a certain Roberto Soldado from Valencia, here are three alternatives that they can look for.

Pablo Daniel Osvaldo:

Currently playing for Serie-A side Roma, this Argentine-born Italian national would be a good alternative for the North London club.  Being 27 years of age, he can perfectly mix his talents and skills with experience. He is currently at the peak of his talent and can serve Spurs for a few years from now on. Having an experience of playing in La Liga and Serie A for a host of clubs, he can be a good dish to try for. Joining Roma in 2011, he scored 28 goals in 57 appearances for them. Available within the budget, Andre Villas-Boas would obviously keep a close eye on him.

Jackson Martinez:

This F. C. Porto striker can surely become the next sensation of Spurs after Gareth Bale. This Colombian international would be a value-for-money if he gets the chance to play at White Hart Lane. Being transferred to Porto just a season ago, this 26-year old has 34 goals in only 39 appearances. Noted columnist Tim Vickery describes him as “an out-and-out goalscorer, a front-to-goal centre-forward who can finish off both feet”. In addition to that, he has an exceptional speed which can work as his advantage. AVB seems to be reluctant to sign him. One of the reasons may be he doesn’t have enough experience to play in an elite league of Europe like Bundesliga, La Liga or Serie A. Keeping that in mind, it is wise to say that he can be the trump card for Spurs this season.

Siem De Jong:

This 24 year old Dutch forward is considered to be tremendously under-rated player. Currently designated as the Ajax captain, he can become outstanding for Spurs. Being a prolific finisher, he has exceptional composure on one on one situations. Available in a budget of around £10million, he can become another wonder for Tottenham.
