Tottenham Transfers – 3 Players Slapped At AVB To Have A Look, Before The Window Shuts Down

After selling Steven Caulker to Cardiff City, Andre Villas-Boas has some serious issues to deal with the defensive setup of Spurs. And it appeared after they were thrashed 5-2 by the French side AS Monaco recently. With Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul both ruled out due to injury, AVB had to enlist Zeki Fryers and Jake Livermore as a defensive pair and the outcome was alarming.

Although Monaco played a full strength team against a makeshift Spurs side, leaving 5 goals is a big question mark with the season just around the corner. So, Tottenham boss AVB has to act quickly on such a scenario as the transfer window is less than a month to shut down. With Gallas also leaving the club, the number of backups doesn’t look great for Spurs, so here are three possible alternatives or probable players who can add the much needed depth to the North London club.

Kurt Zouma:

This 18-year old defender is a familiar name in the White Hart Lane. Spurs were linked with the teenager last season but for some reasons the deal didn’t take place. This young lad currently serves the French side Saint-Étienne. Earlier, Bundesliga side Wolfsburg had shown interest for the defender but the talks had gone in vain. So, AVB still has wide chances to assign the talented youngster.

Vlad Chiriches:

This Romanian international is so far considered as the no.1 target of the North London club. Though the deal is now frizzed because of some serious issues, it is up to the club to revive it. The 24 years old Romanian currently plies his trade in his country at Steaua Bucharest. He has so far appeared 138 times in the premier level for various clubs. A deal of around £8m for the player can surely turn the situation favourable for AVB.

Toby Alderweireld:

Among all the alternatives, this guy is considered to be best for the Spurs. A Belgian international, Alderweireld is enrolled with the Dutch club Ajax. He has been associated with the club for five seasons appearing 182 times for them. But his reluctance to stay there for the sixth season is what AVB should capitalise. Considered to be a cheap deal, he can become the trump card for AVB this season.
