Tottenham Opinion: Why should Spurs sign Morales?
According to a report from The Sun, Tottenham are interested in signing Chilean striker Ivan Morales, with the reports claiming that the North Londoners have held talks with the player’s agent.
The report also added that Spurs have had a bid worth £2.6million rejected for the 19-year-old. (h/t The Sun)
How good is Morales? What would he bring to Tottenham?
The 19-year-old caught attention when he made his debut for the Chile national earlier this year.
A youth product of Chilean outfit Colo-Colo, Morales broke into the main team at the age of 16. Over the course, he has bagged 9 goals and three assists.
A centre-forward by trade, Morales can also play as a winger on either side of the flanks.
Elsewhere at Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino is making things happen in the transfer window after a long time, as he has added the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke.
However, Spurs’ job wouldn’t be done until they secure attacking reinforcements to provide a back-up for Harry Kane, in particular.
The English striker might have recuperated from the injury but Pochettino should plan for contingencies, as his side lacks depth in the attacking prowess.
Given this, Spurs can make a move for Morales due to his tender age and the handful of experience he has gained.
And his versatility to play at various positions would allow the Argentine manager to ease the pressure of his main men.

The Chilean prospect’s presence would also enhance the competition for Spurs’ teenager Troy Parrot, who recently entered the bigger frame after his impressive display against Juventus in the pre-season friendlies.
The 17-year-old Irish prodigy, however, has the upper hand, given his brilliant season with the reserves side.
Final Verdict
Spurs recently concluded one of their successful campaigns in history, where they eventually ended up as the runners-up in the Champions League.
While Pochettino is aiming to make a statement in the upcoming Premier League campaign, he should pave way for the youngsters like Morales, who would complete the attacking unit.
