Tottenham Player Ratings Against West Ham: Kane, Eriksen and Dembele Deliver for the Spurs

Game after game, Spurs are increasingly giving you an impression that they, finally after 2011, are the real deal. They carried on with their unbeaten run after grabbing an impressive win over London rivals West Ham, cementing their place on the 5th spot. As Spurs cruised past Slaven Bilic’s distraught bunch, you just couldn’t get enough of Spurs, as they showed glimpses of exquisite football and another day, they could’ve scored six or seven, and it’d have seemed more like a cricket score.

Quite clearly, West Ham were no match for the Spurs side that are now just 4 points adrift off the top spot and 2 points off the top four.

Here are our ratings Tottenham player ratings for their West Ham encounter at White Hart Lane-

Hugo Lloris- 7

Didn’t have much to do throughout the game but did the job that was expected of him when called into action.

Kyle Walker- 7.5

Scored the fourth, cute goal from inside the box and looked very good in both aspects of the play. Victor Moses sometimes looked to trouble him and his giveaway late in the game led to Lanzini’s goal and that’s the only blot on the performance.

Toby Alderweireld- 8

The Belgian came up with a goal of his own and looked calm and solid, on and off the ball. Did well to deny spaces to Andy Carroll and his ball distribution was world class, to sound honest.

Jan Vertonghen- 8

Alongside his Belgium and former Ajax teammate, Vertonghen looked like a calming presence amidst a young side, just like he always has throughout this season. The 28-year-old was good in the air and marked the likes of Carroll and Jelavic well too.

Danny Rose- 8

The 25-year-old performed his defensive duties well and there wasn’t any need for him to marshal forward too often with the likes of Eriksen and Kane doing their bit well. Made 2 impressive headed clearances that denied West Ham a possible attempt on goal.

Eric Dier- 8.5

It was another assuring and compact performance from the 21-year-old as he shielded the Spurs’ defense very well and pass distribution stood out too. Used his body to win balls back and play the ball out of crowded areas in almost inspiring fashion. Played a big part in subduing Andy Carroll’s threat.

Moussa Dembele- 9.0

The 28-year-old continued his resurgence in sublime fashion as he bulldozed past the West Ham midfield at will. There was nothing the Hammers could do to stop him wriggle past them and string passes together almost effortlessly.

Hueng Min Son- 8

Didn’t actually hit full throttle throughout the game but linked up well with the likes of Eriksen, Kane and Dembele. His movement was good but lacked a bit of quality on the ball. Got the assist for Walker’ goal with the help of a cheeky layoff.

Christian Eriksen- 9

The young Dane shone again. His creativity and ability to imaginatively thread passes through the Hammers defense turned out to be something that tortured Bilic’s side and the composure he brings near the box is indispensable. Got 2 assists, which are an icing on the cake.

Dele Alli- 8.5

The 19-year-old carried on from where he left off against France in midweek and put on another impressive show to show what he’s capable of. Weaved his magic continuously and his slickness in passing and consistency in pressing proved crucial for Spurs. That altercation with Mark Noble eventually means he’ll miss the important game at home to Chelsea.

Harry Kane- 9

The golden boy added two more to his rich tally of goals and just like always, pressed very well. His hold up was Paul Gascoigne-esque and the swagger with which he played was just as commendable.
