Tottenham must sign this £25m-rated World Cup star – could be a good backup source for goals

Why Tottenham Hotspur must sign winger Hirving Lozano in January

According to the Sun, Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a move for PSV winger Hirving Lozano. As per the report, the £25m-rated winger has caught the eye of Spurs’ scouts, who have kept closed tabs on the player in the past few weeks.

Lozano was one of Mexico’s best players in the World Cup, which attracted Barcelona to send scouts to watch him. The Blaugrana too were impressed with the 23-year-old’s performances and the talent he possesses. (Sun)

Spurs, Barcelona and PSV are in the same Champions League group, playing against each other to get a place in the knockout phase of the competition.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have a history of buying players from the Dutch league, hence, getting Lozano won’t be an indifferent task. Here’s why the Mexican could be the difference maker at Tottenham if he joins the club.

Player Analysis – Hirving Lozano

Lozano is a prodigious winger who can play on either flank and perform at the same level. The 23-year-old has already scored five goals and provided one assist in seven league games this season. He has helped PSV to a perfect start to their Eredivisie season.

Hirving Lozano

The Mexican can create chances, take deadly set-pieces, put devilish crosses in from wide areas and shoot from distance to test the opposition goalkeepers. He can also dribble past people in a flash and create space for a shot or a cross.

Lozano has probably everything you need from a winger who is very attack-minded. Spurs could do with someone who can regularly chip in with goals from the wide areas.

They are handcuffed from buying a decent back-up striker just because Harry Kane plays most games. However, getting a goalscoring winger wouldn’t be a bad option for the team.

Verdict

If a player is being wanted by Barcelona, it is safe to assume that he is good enough to make any team better with his qualities. Tottenham can do better with Lozano in their team.

The Mexican can score goals and create chances from the wide areas, which would not only help Kane but also aid the team to be more lethal in front of the goal.
