Everton:
Ronald Koeman, the new boss at the Goodison Park, made a few impressive signings in the summer transfer window but he is not happy with the squad at his disposal at the moment and is looking to add a couple of players to keep his side strong. He has been looking to add a winger to his squad and has been extensively linked with a move for Manchester United’s Memphis Depay but Gaitan might present a better option for the manager. At 28, Gaitan’s experience might come in handy late in the season and Everton may well make an effective signing if they can get the Atletico man this January.
Liverpool:
Another Merseyside outfit that are in search of wingers, Liverpool are also desperate for attacking additions as Sadio Mane, the only genuine, senior winger in the squad, is busy at the AFCON. Liverpool do not have a player who can provide genuine width to the attack and Gaitan is a player who can solve this problem. At his age, the Argentine should not take too much time to adjust to the conditions in England and his style of play is also not too far away from what Klopp wants from his players. Surely, Gaitan’s addition will make this Liverpool side all more stronger.
