Tottenham Blog: Rock You Like A Harry-Kane

80 seconds and history was made, probably the greatest moment in the life of a footballer, Harry Kane not only got to represent his country in a European qualifier against Lithuania, not only did he get to play the game but he scored and he scored in just 80 seconds. This must be a dream season for the Spurs forward and it keeps on getting bigger and better.

At the start of the season, no one, not even the most ardent Spurs supporter would have imagined the season to go the way it has for Kane and Tottenham. The likes of Adebayor and Soldado are an unknown entity at this moment as Kane is not only grabbing the goals but also the headlines and rightly so.

It is a great feeling for all the people related to Tottenham to see this star from their academy doing so well and not being bogged down playing in the highest level of football. People might forget but Kane is only 21 years old and he does not have the blistering pace or trickery of a Messi or a Ronaldo but he is effective in front of goal and that is the most important thing for a goal scorer.

Goals have been flying in for Kane this season, he has scored 29 goals in 43 appearances for Tottenham this season and is a shoe in to win the PFA Young player of the year award and if he keeps on scoring these kind of goals, he could a few more individual awards for himself.

The most pleasing aspect of Kane is that he is a proper English forward who plays with his heart and is always running about and causing problems to the defence, he is a proper centre forward who does not have the pace but his finishing is good and that is his greatest skill. He should work on it and he will become a better finisher as the years go by.

The other thing which seems to be worth talking about is the youth system at Tottenham, it is great to see one academy product doing so well but there are many others who have taken the step up this season like Mason, Rose and Bentaleb, who are all doing extremely well for their club. The notion that the English game has lost the ability to provide top talent can be debunked through this young brilliant line up with Kane leading from the front, it could be a great time for Tottenham and Kane fans for a while to come.
