Top 5 French Under-21 Stars Featuring Manchester United and Chelsea Players

Share

With France hosting the 2016 Euro tournament, it might be a good time for the French. After winning the World Cup in 1998, they haven’t been able to repeat that feat, though they did win the Euro 2000 competition, the only performance worthy of remembering is the 2006 World Cup final which will be forever remembered as the night when Zinedine Zidane lost his head.

France though have a good set of youngsters coming through the various leagues they are present in and we list out the top under-21 players to be in the setup.

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial

Can we start from anywhere else? Martial’s price was questioned at the start of the season, but the former Monaco striker has shown what he is capable of doing, at least Liverpool will remember that. Gifted with pace and ability, Martial is the most expensive teenager in the history of football and that is with good reason. The youngster still has a long way to go but he has the potential to become big and Manchester United fans will be expecting bigger and better things to come from him.

Kurt Zouma

Another player from the English Premier League, Kurt Zouma didn’t have the greatest of starts with Chelsea when he signed for the Blues, but slowly and surely he has gotten more chances to perform at the highest stage. He still is a little rough around the edges but under the management of Jose Mourinho and with the leadership of John Terry by his side, Zouma could become one of the best defenders in the Premier League and hopefully for France in the near future.

Adrian Rabiot

Those who follow the French Ligue will know that Rabiot is one of the hottest properties in French football; you have to be good if you can start for PSG regularly and even keep a talent like Yohan Cabaye out of the team. Rabiot is a bit of a hothead and does have dips in form, but he is extremely talented and is expected to achieve great things in the future for the club and for France.

Aymeric Laporte

Another top talent but Laporte isn’t playing in France but plays in the Spanish League with Athletic Bilbao. The 21-year-old also has a huge release clause which just shows why the Spanish club are trying their best to keep him. Fast and great with the ball at his feet, he isn’t a typical defender when it comes to controlling the ball but he is one of the highest rated young defenders in the world and should grow into one of the best in a few years.

Aymeric Laporte

Sebastien Haller

An unknown player to most, Haller has been doing extremely well at FC Utrecht in Holland. The striker has already scored 11 goals in just 17 appearances for the club and is doing extremely well with the French U-21 side as well. It should only be a matter of time before he gets snapped up by some of the bigger sides in Europe.

Saiyed Adeem Karim

Ditching a corporate job to follow a dream isn’t easy, but when football comes calling, who can say no? Been following the beautiful game since 1998. FIFA addict, F1 fanatic. Follow me @bonbonkayzee
