TOP 5 Football Movies To Watch When You Are Bored

Share

Today I thought of watching some football related movies from my collection. All of a sudden I got an idea of making an article out of it and rest is the history. Haha…just look at my list of top 5 football movies of all time and share your opinions by commenting below.

  • 5. The Two Escobars Two Escobars

As name suggests, this is a movie about Two Escobars: Pablo Escobar; and Andres Escobar. Pablo was one of the richest drug kingpin in Columbia while Andres was a Colombian football player. They were no way related but plot does it for them. This story revolves around 1994 world cup in USA. The way the violence, civil war and football was linked in this classic movie was brilliant. If you love dons and football, this is the movie for you.

  • 4. She’s the man She’s the man

I don’t know why many disliked this movie. It was a quite a good teenage football drama. Movie’s plot was inspired from William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. If you are a book worm like me, you would know that Twelfth Night was an amazing yet confusing romantic comedy. This movie is about a girl viola who  disguises as her brother to be a part of a football team. Even though this flick may not suit mature audience, i still feel it is a nice football themed movie with lots of confusing teen relationships.

  • 3. Damned United

The Damned United is a humorous story of Brian Clough’s and his 44 day experiences as manager of the reigning champions of English football Leeds United (1960’s). Another reason why i love this movie is because he tries to make his team play beautiful football and less violent football. Did he succeed or not is the rest of the plot.
  • 2. Fever Pitch Fever Ptch

This is probably the best football movie of all time for me. This is not about football players alone but is about a football fan (of Arsenal FC). It is Based on Nick Hornby’s best selling autobiographical novel. It’s a love triangle between a man, a woman and a football club. This movie is a must watch for all Arsenal fans. Even others can watch this film as it portraits the passion of a fan towards his club he love.

  • 1. Goal Trilogy Goal

When i mean trilogy , i just mean first two goal movies. Third one was one of the boring movies i ever watched. But who can forget Santiago’s journey from being a busy boy in a restaurant to a renowned football player who played for Newcastle United and Real Madrid. First ever movie to bring the real football experience to the big screen. Great Movie! It deserves the top spot.

If you guys have some football movies to share, just post it in the comments.
