Two Ideal Loan Destinations For Chelsea’s Charly Musonda

Charly Musonda could be out on loan in the January transfer window or in the summer as he has not seen enough time on the pitch for the talent he possesses. Having played just 26 minutes in the Premier League and a couple of games in the League cup, the winger could find himself out of Cobham if Chelsea’s loan system comes into play. The Blues have over 32 players out on loan to different parts of the world.

Their policy is to keep the players happy and sell them to a club where they play regularly. Some players have benefitted from this, like the prime example of Andreas Christensen, who was loaned out to Borussia Mönchengladbach for two years and now has come back stronger to be one of Conte’s most trusted players in the defence. Although he has signed a new contract that keeps him at Stamford Bridge until 2022, a loan deal is never far away for such a prospect.

More On Musonda

Musonda started his career at Anderlecht, where he was a youth player for over 12 years. His performances caught the eye of European giants such as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea. Eventually, he set out to West London but was loaned out to Real Betis to join former Chelsea boss Gus Poyet where he scored a goal in 24 appearances. The Belgian has also represented his nation from the U-15 to U-21 level. He made his full debut for Chelsea against the Tricky Trees in the League cup, scoring a goal which brought out his emotions.

The 21-year-old can play on either wing and also as a number 10, which makes him quite versatile. He is direct, loves to dribble, drive forward and get things done quickly. His dribbling and composure with the ball in his feet is first class. With age, the youngster will learn to pick the right passes and improve his vision. Lastly, his finishing and ability to strike a long ball are dazzling.

Brighton and Hove Albion

Chris Hughton’s side have not been at their best in the recent past after having made a strong start to their top-flight campaign. They are currently 13th in the league and are just four points above the red zone. The Seagulls are winless since the 4th of November and desperately need an inspirational win from somewhere. With the 4-4-1-1 formation, the midfield four has similar faces every game apart from the left-hand side.

While Knockaert, Stephens, Propper fill the spots from the right to the centre, the left flank has seen Isaiah Brown, Jose Izquierdo and Solomon March, which implies that there is no player who has won the manager’s trust completely. Musonda could get some time in the middle if he joins Brighton.

Southampton

Another team that isn’t quite sure of its best midfielders yet. The wing is occupied by James Ward-Prowse, Sofiane Boufal, Nathon Redmond and Mario Lemina. But, they haven’t all played week in week out, which shows inconsistency. They haven’t scored many goals this season; just 15 of them.

The Chelsea starlet could fill the boots and create better goalscoring chances, as there isn’t really anyone in the Saints side that can drive forward and push the opponents deeper. They lack penetration and the cutting edge. This would surely be improved if a player like Charly Musonda joins the club.
