Predicted Crystal Palace Lineup To Face Manchester United

Crystal Palace will pay a visit to the Old Trafford this weekend as they take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United on the final day of the Premier League season.

The Eagles managed to secure safety from the drop when they trounced Hull City 4-0 last weekend. They are seated 13th in the league standings and manager Sam Allardyce will be intent on finishing the season with a win against the Red Devils to cap off what has been a strong comeback after a disastrous start to the season.

Team News

Captain and defender Scott Dann will undergo a late fitness test to determine if he will be able to take part on Sunday. Wickham, Papa Souare and Mamadou Sakho are confirmed absentees.

Probable Crystal Palace Starting XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Sam Allardyce

Wayne Hennessey (GK)

The Welsh shot-stopper has had a big hand in the Eagles’ revival since the turn of the year. Will start between the sticks against United.

Joel Ward (RB)

The 27-year old has been a constant fixture on the right-hand side of the defence this season. Expect no changes here on Sunday.

Martin Kelly (CB)

Scott Dann will undergo a late fitness test, but it is unlikely he will be thrust into action straight away meaning Martin Kelly will continue as a makeshift centre-half.

James Tomkins (CB)

Made a surprise return from injury to the starting line-up last weekend against the Tigers. Should keep his place in the starting XI.

Jeffrey Schlupp (LB)

The former Leicester City man has been impressive in the past few games. Will start once again at left-back ahead of Patrick van Aanholt.

Luka Milivojevic (CM)

Scored from the spot in the 4-0 win last weekend. Has slotted in nicely since arriving in the winter window and will be tasked to do the dirty work in the midfield.

Yohan Cabaye (CM)

Amid rumours of his summer exit to Marseille, this could very well be Cabaye’s final game for Crystal Palace. Will want to sign off on a high.

Wilfried Zaha (RW)

Another player who could potentially be taking the field for the last time as a Crystal Palace player, Zaha will be keen on impressing against his former employers.

Jason Puncheon (CAM)

Has been an ever-present in the line-up for Crystal Palace and in the absence of Dann, he will lead the team out once again this Sunday.

Andros Townsend (LW)

Did not have the best of games against Hull last weekend. He will look to put in a better display this time around.

Christian Benteke (ST)

The big man can prove to be a handful to deal with for a United defence that hasn’t been at its best in the past few weeks.

Here’s how Crystal Palace could take the field:
