Time to leave? 3 ideal loan destinations for this out of favour Man United star including Burnley

3 Ideal loan destinations for Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof

Manchester United endured a largely underwhelming campaign last time even though the club finished 2nd in the league. In a season that saw champions Manchester City pretty much waltz through to the title, no club was even remotely close to them as Pep Guardiola’s men broke the record for scoring the most number of points (100) in a 38-game season.

The club will aim to bounce back from their downfall as the new Premier League campaign looms. But before that, Mourinho is going to have to clear out the futures of a few players who haven’t yet been regulars in the squad.

Victor Lindelof joined the Red Devils last year but has only been able to make a total of 17 appearances in the league last season. He was largely restricted to a bench role due to the presence of Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones in the squad.

Victor Lindelof

His former club Benfica and a host of other clubs are said to be interested in a loan move for the Swedish ace and here are 3 ideal loan destinations for Victor Lindelof to consider if he wishes to move out of Old Trafford temporarily.

Burnley

The Clarets have returned to Europe after a 60-year absence and Sean Dyche will certainly need additional signings to bolster the squad. Burnley will be competing in the Europa League next season and the club could use an experienced centre-back like Victor Lindelof in their ranks.

Alongside James Tarkowski and Ben Mee, Lindelof could be a part of a rigid backline that shipped just 39 goals last season. Sean Dyche could aim for a loan move for the defender and see how he fares over the campaign, before deciding to make it permanent.

Benfica

Who doesn’t love a move back to their former club? Unless the player left the club in a controversial mess, the fans are always willing to have one of their own back at the club. Lindelof made a name for himself as one of the best centre-backs around while he was with the Portuguese giants. A move back to the club could help him reignite his career and carry his World Cup momentum into it. Benfica are reportedly interested in signing the former defender on loan and it could prove to be a win-win scenario for both parties.

West Ham United

The Hammers were sloppy at the back all season long. With the arrival of the esteemed Manuel Pellegrini, things should start to look a little different. The manager has already brought in a few signings to bolster the backline but a move for the Red Devils defender would further strengthen the squad and provide them with the depth required.

Manuel Pellegrini could partner Angelo Ogbonna and Victor Lindelof at the back, which could make it a very difficult backline to breach next season.
