West Ham United

Time for goodbye: 3 players West Ham must offload this summer including this dynamic beast attacker

Three Players West Ham must offload before the start of next season

West Ham United and their efforts of emerging as a top London outfit suffered setbacks since shifting to London Stadium, as a couple of underwhelming seasons have forced the owners to make significant alterations that are ambitious as well as encouraging for the dejected supporters.

Manuel Pellegrini, the former Real Madrid and Manchester City gaffer, has been appointed as the new man in charge, replacing David Moyes and the veteran Chilean has already sanctioned multiple exciting deals to strengthen the Hammers.

They have strengthened the vulnerable backline by roping in Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks as well as central defensive duo Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena.

Convincing former Arsenal midfield sensation Jack Wilshere to move to Stratford has been top business and the signing of Andriy Yarmolenko from Bourissa Dortmund alongside a club-record deal for Lazio’s Felipe Anderson are indubitably aggressive yet much-needed spending splurge approved by the management.

But a few exits should also take place. Players who are unlikely to offer much following so many high-profile inclusions should be offloaded and here are three such resources who need to move on to salvage their career elsewhere.

Sam Byram

The former Leeds United full-back failed to settle in since completing a January switch back in 2016 under then boss Slaven Bilic but has only made 36 appearances ever since.

He spent the previous campaign to deputise for Pablo Zabaleta and the introduction of Fredericks has now sent him further down the pecking order in East London.

Sam Byram

Byram, 24, has a long career ahead but should consider a move now to seek game-time week in week out. The Englishman has been linked with a move to Championship outfit Nottingham Forest and should accept the transfer to revive his career.

Edimilson Fernandes

The Swiss midfielder was signed by Slaven Bilic a couple of summers back from FC Sion, where he emerged as an exciting prospect with great footwork and ability to dominate a game from the middle of the pitch.

The 22-year-old youngster has appeared 48 times for the Hammers despite injuries but the likes of Jack Wilshere, Mark Noble, Cheikhou Kouyaté and Pedro Obiang will have a nod over him to feature in central midfield.

Edimilson Fernandes

The Swiss international is also capable of featuring in an advanced role but is set to face competition from new boys Yarmolenko and Anderson alongside the experienced Marko Arnautovic, therefore, should keep his options open to continue his growth elsewhere with regular minutes that he is unlikely to achieve under Pellegrini.

Michail Antonio

One of the best players on the pitch when he is fit but the subsequent injury blows have now frustrated the fans as well as the management, who are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the dynamic wide attacker.

The 28-year-old Englishman is still sidelined with a hamstring injury and the inclusion of Anderson and Yarmolenko implies that they are good to go without Antonio, who will still return a decent chunk of money if a buyer is found in the next few weeks.
