Three World Class Signings At Manchester United This Summer – Ed Woodward Warned

Manchester United have had a slow season so far under Louis Van Gaal. The club is looking out for another trophy less season next year, if they do not make any significant changes in their current squad according to former striker Scott McGarvey.

With just 37 goals in the entire season so far United will need to add new strikers into the squad. According to McGarvey United need to sign ‘World Class’ players come this summer. The Red Devils already have one world class player with them that is Bastian Schweinsteiger but they need more to bring the trophy into the house.

“We have got two or three young potentials, which is fine. We got Bast [Bastian Schweinsteiger] in, who is the only world class signing [last summer],” he told website IBTimes UK.

“But United need to bring in two or three more world class players in the summer – whether we will get them or not is something I am not sure.

“We cannot keep buying potential world class players and spending big money on them. We need players who are already world class and it is fine to spend money on them.”

And the former striker, 52, believes current executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward must shoulder the blame for United’s poor business and should revert to the ways of former chief executive David Gill.

“David Gill was very successful, he did extremely well when Sir Alex Ferguson was the manager,” he added

“But Manchester United have not made any good transfers in the last three years and Ed Woodward has to take blame for some of, if not all of it.”

“I just think if Jose Mourinho takes over, we need someone who is capable of negotiating in getting the right players and not panicking on September 1.

“We should finish our business in July and August as Manchester United is a club where most players should want to play.”
