Three Transfers Alan Pardew Could Complete If West Bromwich Albion Appoint Him As Their Manager

West Bromwich Albion are in the middle of a transition phase that could either make or break their Premier League campaign this season. After having made a dismal start, the Baggies failed to show signs of consistency and stability which ultimately led to Tony Pulis getting sacked. Although they are yet to confirm the appointment of a new manager, it is being widely speculated that Alan Pardew could take up the post.

Regardless of who gets appointed, it will truly be a mammoth task for them to pull West Brom out of the dredges of relegation. Pulis was never known for making them play entertaining football but he did make them solid enough to survive. This season, their survival itself seems like a doubt and Pardew will need to bring in reinforcements to ensure they do just that. Hence, let’s take a look at 3 players West Brom could target with Pardew in charge.

Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool

West Brom are in dire need of pace up front. Sturridge was a force to be reckoned with at Liverpool but over the last couple of years, his growth has been stunted due to injuries. However, he has recovered and can get back to form in a new environment where playing time is not as hard to come by as it is at Anfield right now. And West Brom seem to be the ideal destination. Moreover, a player with Sturridge’s experience will certainly prove to be advantageous for the club as they launch an attempt to stage a comeback.

Eliaquim Mangala – Manchester City

At this point, it seems impossible for the defender to even try to establish himself in Pep Guardiola’s squad. The Citizens have found a rhythm with the set of players that are working right now and there seems to be no scope for Mangala to break that. Mangala would do well to move away from Man City and West Brom seem like a good option.

Lamine Kone – Sunderland

The player has been linked with a move to join West Brom for quite some time now, making him an option worth considering in January. The Baggies can get back on track only if they manage to get their defensive strength in order and Kone could be a bargain buy in that aspect. He will not cost as much as the other options while he also offers reliable services. Hence, if Pardew were to join West Brom, Kone might be a player on his list of targets.
