Three Signings that Could Revive Inter Milan

Just a couple of years back, Inter were the European champions. Now they wont even feature in this season’s Champions league. The fortress once built by Jose Mourinho is now slowly collapsing.

Things look bleak now with three senior players Lucio, Pandev and Forlan already left San Siro this summer. Inter have already spent some cash this summer on Palacio and others. So they may not have the money to bring elite players to San Siro anymore.

Now we will look at three realistic signings that can save Inter and make them contenders again or at least to get them qualified for champions league .

  1. Mathieu Debuchy – £7million

    Debuchy

Since Maicon’s future is already in doubt and he may follow his fellow Brazilian Lucio for exit doors, Mathieu Debuchy may be the perfect replacement for Maicon. He may not be as skillful with ball like Maicon, but still have balanced attacking and defensive skills in him.

With Newcastle’s deal for him got stalled for time being, it is the right time for Inter to act now. A bid of around 6 to 7 million pounds would be enough to seal the deal for the French right back. Debuchy clearly told his club that we wanted to play in a better league next season. But Lille is adamant that they wont leave the Euro 2012 star without finding a replacement for him.

If Inter showed real interest, then this will be easy deal to make for them.

  2. Ibrahim Afellay- £7million

    Afellay

Even a talent such as Afellay cannot get a spot in Barcelona’s starting lineup. Such is the quality of players the Catalans have. Reports says that Afellay is will only sign for clubs who will guarantee him a place week in and week out. Inter may the right club for him since the Italian club lack pacey and skillful players in their squad. Arsenal seems to be interested in the Dutch winger but they moved on to other targets like Cazorla and M’Villa.

Again a bid of around 7 million pounds would be enough bring the skilful winger to San Siro.

  3. Fernando Llorente – £20 Million

    Llorente

After Eto’s departure, Inter lost their cutting edge in their attack. Now with the likes of Forlan and Pandev leaving, Inter is only left with Milito as only proved striker left in the squad.
Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente who has the release clause of 23.5 million pounds may be the right man for Inter. He scored in 29 goals last season in Spain. Inter have to pay at least 20 million pounds if at all they wanted to have any chance of signing the tall, free scoring center forward.

Chelsea also seems to have ideas of signing Llorente as they think he will fill the space left by Drogba well.
