3. Rooney’s immaculate workload: Rooney can play anywhere for the team and give his all on the pitch, ready to die and cover every blade of the grass in the greens. Such players are born rarely in a generation and his epitomises Manchester United’s never give up attitude to the best possible extent. He can play as an out and out striker or as Sir Alex Ferguson used him in the later stages of last season, dropping a bit deep and playing as a bridge between the midfield and the strike force in the final third. Rooney is also equally adept at playing in the centre, strewing passes to either corners from the middle and is excellent a tracing back and helping his defence. What more do you want from someone who is equally deadly from set pieces too?
