Jose Mourinho has publicly promised to play attack minded yet direct football, the way Chelsea played in his first stint. With a confident as well as experienced strike force up front, Chelsea midfielders will have their tasks cut out. The midfield will be less burdened as compared to this season and proving service to the striker would be the only concern in the final third. Jose Mourinho’s confidence is never misplaced
When he came out publicly and said that Chelsea were the little horses in the title race, he was subject to mockery and criticism. Nobody saw the Blues as the underdogs because of the amount of money they spend on players and also the quality of players they already have in the team. But Jose knew that Chelsea lack the final pieces in the jigsaw which will only be added after the transitional season. Hence his public denial of Chelsea as title fighters was pretty much accurate.
This time around, the boss has nonchalantly stated that if Chelsea use the transfer window well, the Blues will be winning the league. He never backs down from his statements. He has the ego and self-respect tagged along with pride, which keeps him motivated to achieve his target. His second seasons have been strong ones with Real Madrid and Inter Milan as well. His second season with Chelsea was the best in Chelsea’s history. Such facts only give us more confidence in a very strong willed manager. If he makes up his mind, he goes on to prove it.
