Three Reasons Why Arsenal Have A Future In The Champions League This Season

Wenger Arsenal

The draw for the knock out stages of the Champions League was done on Monday and most Arsenal fans all over the globe were surely praying for one thing: AVOID BAYERN MUNCHEN. So when Arsenal not only avoided Bayern Munchen and teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona and instead drew Monaco, the relief was indeed visible from the face of every Arsenal fan. So Arsene Wenger will face his old club, the club that actually sacked him. Definitely lots of memories and maybe a score to settle for Arsene Wenger as well. Here are the top three reasons why we here at Soccersouls think that Arsenal will qualify for the quarter finals of the Champions League.

The luck of the draw was the kind to Arsenal:

There cannot be any other way of putting it. For once Arsenal were extremely lucky to get the draw that they did despite finishing second in the group. Monaco was probably the best opponents that Arsenal could have drawn on the night and for once it was a dream come true for every gooner worldwide. While Borussia Dortmund will be battling it out with Juventus despite finishing the group first, Arsenal being the runners up will face a Monaco side which has looked really ordinary to say the least.

This Monaco side just cannot score:

With Falcao and James Rodriguez leaving Monaco this season for pastures greener, it would have been fair to say that the attacking backbone of the French side was broken before the season even begun. Now, in the Ligue 1 and the Champions League we are seeing how hard it is for Monaco to replace the goals from these two players as the goals have indeed been a premium. Believe it or not Monaco scored just 4 goals in their Champions League campaign this season and even more unbelievably that was enough to get them top spot. Arsenal in comparison, with all the injuries and what not, scored 19 goals. If we go by attrition of the two sides there is only one winner.

Arsenal will get all the injured players back from injury:

Now there cannot be any certainties in life. Especially when it comes to injuries and Arsenal FC. However come February all the injured players like Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere should be back again and will be raring to go. Surely that alone will be enough to outgun a Monaco side which is looking hopelessly out of place in the knock out stages of the Champions League.
