Three Reasons Why Cristiano Ronaldo Should Come Back to Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo

Most eyes were glued to the La Liga clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid on Saturday, well at least those whose teams did not play in that time band. Dubbed ‘El Clasico’ due to the two teams’ history, the dominance of the Spanish league and a wealth of stars strutting their stuff, it was no surprise to see a lot of players trying to prove they are the best or at least their team is.

While Barcelona have enjoyed more of the recent matches, they were on another level as they demolished Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, 4-0 was the score at the end of the game, even without Messi who only came on for the Catalan giants in the second half. Luis Suarez and Neymar were the stars in the first half and no one can remember that there was another player who should have played a more starring role.

Real Madrid’s talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo was yet again a forlorn figure as he saw him team being dismantled, although most of the Real Madrid players were well below par in Rafa Benitez’s first El Clasico in charge, Ronaldo, being Ronaldo should have done more to give his team a foothold in the game.

There have been criticisms about Ronaldo’s form since last season and he hasn’t improved upon it this season under Rafa Benitez. Manchester United’s former star could well be looking for a move away from the club and with Louis van Gaal wanting to sign Ronaldo, we provide three reasons as to why he should move back to the English giants.

Still loved at Manchester United

When Ronaldo did make his big money move to Real Madrid, most Manchester United fans were upset at him going away but you didn’t find anyone actually having a right go at Ronaldo. The Portuguese star wanted another challenge and truth to be told, if either Madrid or Barcelona come calling, it is very hard to refuse them.

Even when Ronaldo faced United in the Champions League there was rapturous applause for him from the United faithful, in recognition for all that he had done and achieved at the club. The United fans love him and will take him back with arms wide open. We saw how support and affection can change a team around, Alan Pardew managing Crystal Palace is one such example, Ronaldo to Manchester United is a match made in heaven.
