  • Flashback:

    • When these two teams met last time (at Emirates), they produced a breath taking 3-3 encounter. It was a very crucial match for the gunners. They had to win to keep their Champions League destiny in their own hands. Benayoun gave an early lead to the home side but the men in yellow struck twice within next twenty minutes to take the well deserved lead. Scores stayed that way till 70th min, then who else other than PFA player of the year “Robin Van Persie” scored twice and looked certain to get three points for Arsenal. But it’s ARSENAL! They can blew any lead anytime! Morison silenced the red and white fans by equalizing with just 5 mins left. Match ended 3-3 and Arsenal qualified for the Champions league eventually.
  • Tactical Notes:

    • We can expect Arsenal to stick with 4-2-3-1 formation with Ramsey and Arteta to take the deep play making roles. Cazorla will yet again will be the engine for the team and will take the usual classic No.10 role behind the striker. Gervinho and Podolski will be the wide players while in form Giroud will be their target man. But their biggest miss will be the absence of Theo Walcott. Norwich will try to attack Arsenal at their home which will leave spaces for Arsenal wingers to make runs. Theo’s pace and finishing will be surely missed in any away game. Another worry for them will be their ability to deal with set pieces. They defend well during the open play but still struggle with their zonal marking in set pieces.
    • Norwich mean while will definitely go into the match with an idea of winning it. Holt will take his lone-striker role and will look to trouble the gunners with his physical presence and aerial skills. It will be an open game, first goal will be crucial and who ever score first will deploy counter attacking strategy afterwards and both the teams are good at that (counters). Prediction 2-2.
