Joel Campbell had a brilliant 2014 World Cup and many people thought that might open the door for him at Arsenal. However that has not really changed the scenario for the young star as following his successful loan in Greece. Joel Campbell is still very much at the fringes and is very much down in the pecking order at Arsenal. There are even doubts as to whether he will make the bench when everyone, including Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo, is fit and ready. The Frenchman is at the last year of his contract and during his time at Arsenal he has not really set the world on fire. While initially last season, he looked like the answer to Arsenal’s soft underbelly, his shortcomings has been more than exposed in this time period. His lack of pace has been one of the main reasons why Arsenal has been so easily overrun several times last season. As someone who is definitely not the answer and also out of contract, there can be no question of an extension being offered to the Frenchman.
