Three players Tottenham should sign in the summer – including this dazzling Championship star

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the most consistent sides in the Premier League in the last couple of seasons and that is down to Mauricio Pochettino’s brilliant coaching. Pochettino has nurtured a lot of young talents and added a few experienced heads to his squad which has turned Spurs into an eye-catching side, trying to rub shoulders with Europe’s top elites.

Just like last summer, Pochettino will be looking to bring in some of the finest talents in world football to the club to add further depth and quality to the current squad. While Spurs’ policy of signing young starlets with potential is praiseworthy, they will need to sign some quality players if they are to compete strongly in Europe.

With a lot to fight for to claim a place in the top-four this season, here we take a look at three players that Spurs should target in the summer transfer window.

  1. Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham)

Sessegnon is arguably one of the most exciting players on show in England at his age. Despite being just 17, he has displayed fantastic performances for the Cottagers this season and with the potential and talent he possesses, he seems to be ready to lighten up the Premier League.

Knowing his potential and ability, Pochettino should not waste any time in signing him up this summer.

  1. Josh King (Bournemouth)

Squad depth will be key for Spurs as they will be looking to compete on multiple fronts next season. Considering they are still short when it comes to a quality deputy for Harry Kane, the club might benefit by making a move for Josh King.

The Norwegian had a great season for the Cherries in the previous campaign, scoring 16 league goals. However, he has failed to hit the same heights this season but with Pochettino valuing physicality, King would fit the mould perfectly at Spurs. But Spurs cannot afford to be too patient if they want to take the next step.

  1. Max Meyer (Schalke)

One of the most exciting talents in Germany, Meyer looks set to depart Schalke at some point in 2018, with his contract up at the end of June. As a result, Schalke would likely consider any offers for Meyer in summer and given the 22-year-old’s displays this season, it would be wise for Spurs to spend cash on him.

Meyer boasts of all the qualities needed to become one of the top midfielders in Europe. He is an exciting midfielder with creativity being his biggest asset. He can surely improve the current Spurs squad and challenge Christian Eriksen for a place in the starting XI.
