The world’s most expensive player has struggled to get started in the Premier League. That is no secret. Whether that is down to Mourinho failing to get the most out of him, or the Frenchman struggling to come to terms with the Premier League after a long spell in Italy is a point for debate.

But as seen in their great Euro 2016 campaign, he is most certainly a man who feels at home playing for his national team and is one of the most important players for the French.

Against Sweden on Friday night, it looked like Pogba relished a return to this level and he looked a threat, controlling the game in midfield. He completed his night work with a great header in off the underside of the bar and went close with a few long range efforts also.

The Tottenham playmaker has struggled to get going so far this season. Without Harry Kane, Tottenham have needed their attacking midfielders to step up and contribute some goals. However, he is yet to find the net in the Premier League this season and simply must improve on this if he is to stay in the Tottenham team.

Good news for Mauricio Pochettino is that the great Dane scored two goals and ran the game in Denmark’s 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan. One of his goals, in particular, was fantastic as he dribbled past three of 4 players and slotted the ball into the corner of the net.

However, he did pick up a knock in this fixture and is out of Denmark’s friendly against Czech Republic and it is unknown as of yet whether he will be fit for Tottenham key clash against West Ham.
