Three Players Manchester United Should Sign On Loan This January

Manchester United seem to be finally getting things right, they are 4th in the Premier League table and could be on their way to get back in the UEFA Champions League next season, however there still are a few problems with United which need to be fixed if they are to consolidate their 4th position in the table and climb the table for an even higher finish.

Not having to play any games in midweek due to European commitments might have worked for Liverpool last season but they did not have as many injuries as Manchester United have had this season. United have not had a 100% squad all through the season and with more games coming in December followed by the FA Cup starting in January, some addition to the squad on loan would help the side achieve their minimal goal of 4th position.

Here are 3 players United can sign on loan in the January transfer window.

Giorgio Chiellini

The Juventus defender is out of contract at the end of the season but signing him now on loan with an option for a permanent deal in June would be a brilliant move by United. Chiellini has not signed a new contract with Juve and could be looking to move away from the Turin giants. Chiellini is 30 years old but more than anything he would provide some experience to the back line of Manchester United.

Pace may not be his best friend but Chiellini has been around the block enough to deal with almost every kind of player and he could impart a lot of knowledge to the other players in the defense.

Isco

The Real Madrid midfielder hasn’t made the impact he would have liked at the Bernabau and he would love to be playing week in week out. Manchester United have been hit hard by injuries, especially in the attacking third with injuries to Falcao, Rooney and Di Maria, all occurring in the past few weeks.

Purchasing Isco might be out of the question but getting him on loan would not be the toughest task, especially since they already have sent Javier Hernandez on loan. Isco would be able to provide the attacking spark and can play on either wing for Manchester United.

Gregory van der Wiel

The Dutch right back has not played as much game time as he would have liked since signing for Paris St. Germain. Van der Wiel has only played 76 games in 3 seasons at PSG and has always been a target for Manchester United, ever since van Gaal became the United manager.

Getting Van der Wiel might be a tough ask for the Manchester team, however the right back spot is one of the weak links in the United team and signing Van der Wiel on loan might be a feasible option for both parties.
