Arsenal opinion: Three players Emery can target instead of Ever Banega
English news outlet Mirror has reported that one of Arsenal’s top targets Ever Banega is wanted by Boca Juniors. The 30-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Arsenal, with Unai Emery looking to reunite with his former star (Metro).
With the club needing a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, adding someone like Ever Banega was always going to be a slight mistake. The Welshman is leaving after an 11-year career with the club and replacing him is always going to be tough.
However, that being said, here are three players that Arsenal should target instead of Ever Banega:
The 22-year-old is a supremely talented star and has done very well over the last few years for Cagliari and has been linked with a move to Arsenal (Tuttomercatoweb). So far, he’s made just over 100 appearances for the Serie A side, including 34 this season, missing just three games.
What makes him the second-best option for Arsenal is the fact that he’s an all-round midfield star, which is a lot like what Aaron Ramsey is. That combined with his incredible work ethic, defensive abilities and creative nuance makes him perfect for the Premier League.
While he hasn’t scored too many goals over the course of his career, the Italian is only 22 years old and needs time to improve that.
Another player who has been linked with a move to Arsenal (Football Espana), the 24-year-old has proved to be a bargain for Eibar. So far this season, Jordan has managed to produce 8 goals in 33 appearances, which shows just how well he’s done.
For Arsenal, a team that is looking for a midfielder, few would be as affordable as Jordan. An incredible box-to-box midfielder, the 24-year-old combines a lot of things into one affordable budgetary option.
He’s physically and defensively solid, which has helped Eibar a lot this season, and he’s technically adept too. That combined with the €15million release clause (Football Espana) makes Joan Jordan an absolute steal.
Donny Van De Beek
The best option on any list after his performances over the last few seasons, the 22-year-old Ajax star is by far the best option for Arsenal (Football London). A part of this incredible Ajax team, Van De Beek is both their creative and energetic hub.
His ability to play both as a number 8 and as a number 10 has seen the young midfielder assert his dominance over the league time after time, making a big impact. Yet like most starlets, the 22-year-old struggles with the defensive side of the game and can be called an enthusiastic defender at best.

However, that shouldn’t halt any move for him in the near future, especially with Arsenal looking to build a young core at the club. The additions of Lucas Torriera and Matteo Guendouzi plus Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ regular involvement prove the same.
